Issue:

While attempting to log in to the UFT Digital Lab web interface, the following error message is displayed:

"Invalid login name/password or user is locked. Error code: 2913."

The login fails even when using the correct credentials, and reinstalling or restarting the service does not resolve the issue.

Causes:

  1. Incorrect credentials or locked user account – The admin or user account may be locked after multiple failed login attempts.
  2. Password policy violation – The password may not meet the Digital Lab password complexity requirements.
  3. Corrupted user configuration or database record – Occasionally, user data may become inconsistent after an upgrade or patch installation.
  4. Network or port access issues – Port 8443 may be blocked, preventing proper authentication communication between the browser and the server.
  5. Configuration mismatch after patch installation – Although patches are installed, sometimes post-installation cache or service restarts may be needed for changes to take effect.

Steps:

Step 1: Verify Network Access

Ensure the Digital Lab server is reachable on port 8443. You can verify this using a command like:
telnet <server-name> 8443

Or open the Digital Lab URL in a browser on the same network:
https://<server-name>:8443

Step 2: Confirm Patch Installation

Make sure all the latest patches or updates for Digital Lab are applied. Restart the UFT Digital Lab services after patch installation to ensure proper configuration loading.

Step 3: Use the User Management Tool

If the login still fails, use the User Management tool to reset or recreate an administrator account.

For Windows:

1. Navigate to the Digital Lab installation directory:
<Digital Lab installation folder>\server\bin
2. Run: user_management.bat
3. Follow the prompts to reset an existing password or create a new administrator account.

For Linux:

1. Navigate to: <Digital Lab installation folder>/server/bin
2. Run: ./user_management.sh

Step 4: Follow Password Complexity Rules

When resetting or creating a new password, ensure it meets the following:
• Between 6 and 20 characters
• Contains at least one uppercase letter
• Contains at least one lowercase letter
• Contains at least one number

Note: After resetting a password, you may need to wait 15 minutes before logging in again (default account lockout interval).

Step 5: Log in with New Credentials

Once the new admin account is created or password reset:
1. Open the Digital Lab web console: https://<server-name>:8443
2. Log in using the new credentials.

Step 6: (Optional) Validate User Permissions

After successful login, ensure the correct administrator permissions are assigned to your account from the User Management tool or Operator console.

Additional Info:

After completing the above steps:
• The login issue should be resolved.
• Admin access to the Digital Lab web console should be restored using the newly created credentials.
