Applies To:
- UFT One 2023 (and potentially other versions)
Issue:
When launching UFT One, the Keyword View may appear scrunched, compressed, or unreadable. This issue typically occurs on high-resolution displays (e.g., 3840×2400) when using custom display scaling (such as 250%). The problem may persist across both laptop and external monitors.
Cause:
The issue is related to Windows display scaling and resolution compatibility.
- UFT may not render correctly when running with very high resolutions combined with high DPI scaling (greater than 100%).
- Certain aspect ratios (such as 16:10 at 3840×2400) can further exaggerate the rendering issue.
When launching UFT One, the Keyword View may appear scrunched, compressed, or unreadable. This issue typically occurs on high-resolution displays (e.g., 3840×2400) when using custom display scaling (such as 250%). The problem may persist across both laptop and external monitors.
Steps:
Adjust Display Settings
- Close UFT.
- Open Windows Display Settings.
- Set Scale and Layout → Change the size of text, apps, and other items to 100%.
- Set Display resolution to a standard 16:9 ratio (e.g., 3840×2160).
- Save and restart your system.
Relaunch UFT
- Launch UFT while the scale is set to 100%.
- Load the Keyword View to confirm that it renders correctly.
Optional Workaround for Readability
- After confirming that Keyword View works at 100%, you can switch back to a higher scaling factor (e.g., 250%) for readability.
- Note: You may need to relaunch UFT after changing scaling settings.
Additional Info:
- Running UFT at high DPI scaling (above 100%) may cause issues in certain views and with some objects in Web/Windows applications.
- For best compatibility, use 100% scaling when working with UFT.
- If you must use higher scaling for readability, apply the workaround of launching UFT at 100% first, then switching back.
