Debug Applet

The Diagnostics applet comes with a debug interface that can be lunched from the client browser. This interface allows the user to see the REST queries and debug messages from the Diagnostics client.

To enable the debug applet:

  1. Add "-ea" to the Java Control Panel system preferences panel on the client machine.
  2. Restart the browser.
  3. Log back into the Diagnostics applet (i.e. http://diags-server:2006\)
  4. The debug applet should launch in a separate browser window

The -ea argument enables assertions and provides the Diagnostics client applet a runtime setting that enables the debug client to run in a separate window. The key is to make sure the browser is picking up the "-ea" parameter so that as it launches JVM processes, they all are assertion-enabled.
